Hey girly,

Welcome message for ARA NINI newsletter on a pink gradient background with star detail. Text: "It's our first one!" Mood: Excited.

Welcome to the first-ever edition of the ARA NINI Health newsletter — we’re so glad you’re here.

This space has been a long time coming. Dr Joyce, our founder, created ARA NINI Health with a deep desire to build safe, nourishing spaces where Black women can talk about health, beauty, and womanhood in a way that feels open, vulnerable, and real.

At ARA NINI, we’re a team of doctors deeply committed to educating and empowering women about their health — but we’re also just girls. So think of this newsletter like a voice note from your best friend… who just happens to be a doctor.

We believe women’s health isn’t just about tracking your cycle or choosing the right supplements. It’s about how you move through the world. How you feel in your skin. How you love yourself through the chaos of life. And that’s why we’re here - to spark conversations, offer expert-backed insights, and remind you that you’re never walking this journey alone.

Each month, we’ll bring you reflections, recommendations, and real talk on a theme that matters -  plus trusted product picks, expert tips, and exclusive invites to the community experiences we’ve designed just for us.

We’re so excited to grow with you.

With love,

Team Ara Nini

Reflective piece about this month’s theme

Skin Deep: A Love Letter to Our Skin

Let’s be honest — skincare is health care, especially for us as women. Our skin tells our stories. It holds our stress, reflects our cycles, and absorbs the weight of trying to thrive in a world that isn’t always built for us. Whether it’s hormonal acne, hyperpigmentation, or just trying to keep your glow while life is lifing — skincare has never been just about vanity. It’s about vulnerability.

Four women with glowing skin face right against a neutral background. Their expressions are serene, emphasizing diversity and beauty.

I’ve loved skincare since I was 13 — back when I was battling acne and trying every product under the sun. Eventually, I went on the pill and my skin cleared, but I didn’t realise how deeply my hormones were connected to my skin until much later. Now, as I approach my 30s, my skin is still evolving — and so am I. These days, I’m on the hunt for a good chemical peel, and I’m even flirting with the idea of injectables like polynucleotides and Sculptra. They say Black don’t crack, but I’m not here to get comfortable — I want to care for my skin intentionally and age on my terms.

We hope this week’s newsletter gives you all the tea — everything you need to know about how your skin shifts with your cycle, expert-backed guidance on managing hyperpigmentation (aka every Black girl’s nemesis), and some of our favourite skincare products, lovingly curated and tried-and-tested by the Ara Nini team.

Because your skin deserves care, strategy, and a whole lot of science.
